Dentists helping young and old

Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

Volunteers are the heart of every organization and we are grateful for every one of ours.  The myriad of gifts used in this ministry by our volunteers demonstrate the ‘many gifts but one body’ Paul spoke about in 1 Corinthians 12. The synergy that occurs when we each contribute to the whole gives Glory to God and opens the door to the Gospel.  We are a safe, exciting community-led ministry to serve with, and hope that after learning more about us that you will choose to be one of our Gifts!

We are a Discipleship Tool

We learn about Christian service at church, in conferences, and in various bible studies.  After the sermon or education is delivered, a call to action usually follows.  Although there are opportunities within the church, where can you go to achieve the command to, “Go ye, therefore…”?  We offer the opportunity for groups, businesses, non-profits, and individuals to serve locally and develop the Christ-like character encouraged in the bible. Come join us … we open the door for you to learn how to be the light to others and then give you a place to train others to do the same.

Expectations and Guidelines

We desire to equip you to serve at Communities Under the Bridge.  To achieve that, we have developed some general guidelines for everyone and specific guidelines for the individual positions in which you may want to serve. We firmly believe one of the ways we demonstrate the light of the Gospel is to be in unity when we serve.  Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Cor 1:10 NIV With unity in mind, our general guidelines can be viewed by clicking the link below and further discussed at an in-person training.  Once you have finished reading and acknowledging the guidelines, you will be able to inquire about the volunteer positions available to apply for.

Discover Your Spiritual Gifting

It is our desire to help others discover the spiritual gifts God has given and offer a training ground to develop those gifts for service. Some already know their gifts and for them, we provide a place to use those gifts to bless others, including discipling other members of the family of God. Download the free Spiritual Gifts Test below and learn what gifts the Holy Spirit has provided you. Once you know your gifts, we have categorized many of our serving opportunities by gift to help you find your place.

CUB volunteers are saying…

“A wonderful place to serve the needs of the less fortunate in our beautiful city."
Sharon Newman, CUB Volunteer
“Volunteering at CUB seems like it would only be a blessing to those we are serving, but I feel it honestly blesses me more! The experience is far beyond handing over clothing and hygiene items to those in need - it is an opportunity to reflect the love that God has for every single one of us. I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve joyfully in this program that seeks to improve the lives of those in the heart of San Antonio.”
Joy Hamann, CUB Volunteer
“A one-of-a-kind church serving our community. Amazing people - such humility, mercy and care!”
Irina Solovyova, CUB Volunteer
